Raising Awareness

44% of college students report symptoms of depression, 37% report anxiety disorders and 15% report having seriously considered suicide in the past year according to a recent study by the University of Michigan. The EGC Foundation seeks to raise awareness and reduce the feelings of shame surrounding severe mental illness in young adults.

Preventing Suicide

Suicide is the third most common cause of death in high school and college-aged people. The EGC Foundation exists to erase the stigma which surrounds suicide and works to prevent additional loss of life to those who feel isolated and alone.

Remembering Garrison

In January 2023, our beloved son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin and friend took his life after struggling with severe depression for three years. While he died by suicide, he lived almost 22 full and vibrant years. The EGC Foundation honors Garrison’s life and his character.
